Are you ready for next week, because I know that I’m not. This most recent episode of Game of Thrones had me all over the place. If you haven’t seen the episode yet, stop reading because there will be spoilers.
I do have to say this might be one of my favorite episodes for Game of Thrones just because there were so many of the characters in one place. We rarely get to see so many of them interact with each other so I think that is what I enjoyed the most.
One of my favorite parts of this episode was when Brienne was knighted. I do have to say that part probably got me the most emotional. She was so happy and you can tell this is something she always wanted. The fact everyone in that room was there to support her and witness that was amazing. Jaime being the one to knight her was also the icing on the cake. Their friendship has grown so much and him doing this for her was more than my heart could handle.
Another thing I love is Tormund. I saw somewhere someone wrote he is the character they didn’t know the needed and I completely agree. Game of Thrones can be very serious and rip your heart out and stomp on it. Tormund definitely bring a little humor to the screen. It is good to have some comedic relief when everything is usually serious. I especially love his crush on Brienne it is one of the best things in the show in my opinion.
The part I wasn’t ready for was Arya. She has grown up faster than I want her to and I was not ready for that in this episode of Game of Thrones. When I was on twitter, apparently many people felt the same way. No one was ready for it.
I am interested to see what will happen between Sansa and Daenerys. Sansa definitely has grown up a lot and knows a lot more than some people may think. When she asked Daenerys what about the North, she knew the answer. All Daenerys is focused on is the iron throne and sadly that doesn’t include the north. They are both smart powerful woman who know what they want. Sansa will do anything for her family and her people and Danenerys will do anything to get the throne. I am interested to see how this plays out between them.
This whole episode was about getting ready for the war with the dead. They were preparing and basically saying their goodbyes. My naive self is hoping that no one I like dies and they kill the army of white walkers. Unfortunately, Game of Thrones has a tendency of killing everyone I love. So am I ready for this next episode? Nope, but I am going to have to be. This is going to be one of the biggest battles in my opinion and I hope that some of them will make it out alive.
