X Files season 3 has Dana Scully being more skeptical.
We do learn a little bit more about what happened to Scully in this season. That was something I did want to see more of and I am glad we got that. Scully’s character is annoying me a bit in this season. The fact that she doesn’t want to listen to Mulder and is still trying to find plausible explanations for their cases is so confusing. It is season 3, you should get used to the weird stuff and open your mind a bit. I am frustrated by how stubborn her character is. I felt like at least in this season, for like 3 episodes in a row she always cut down Mulder’s theories. It was really annoying to see her not really listen to him. He is usually on the right track but she is still not willing to listen to him.
Director Skinner has become more and more prominent in the episodes. At first I didn’t like him but as the seasons have gone on, I have liked him more and more and how he is trying to protect Scully and Mulder now. I have enjoyed his character development and would love to see how his relationships with them continue to grow and evolve.
Sad things happened this season. Mulder is losing everyone around him. His mother is now in the hospital and may die. He is losing all his family and it is really sad. Scully lost her sister and her dad. It is sad how many people close to them are dying because they are searching for the truth. The closer they get the more danger they get into. It is almost like their hard work isn’t paying off because any evidence they find gets taken from them.
I really do not want to hear Scully be so skeptical. I thought she would at least hear Mulder out but recently in season 3 she wanted to shut down all his ideas right away. That was the biggest problem I had with this season. I honestly don’t understand how Mulder can still work with her. She has seen some crazy things while working with him and she still doesn’t believe it.
I hope in season 4 I enjoy Scully’s character more. This season also left on a cliffhanger, I am interested to get back into it and see what the next season will bring.
