So I watched the 2nd season. Just to let you know there will be spoilers in this post. So if you haven’t watched yet and you don’t want to know what happens then stop reading.

OK, now to all the people who are still reading, lets get started. Let me tell you how I felt about this season in a few words. I wasn’t ready! So I thought since I watched season 1 and all the intense scenes, that I would be prepared for whatever was thrown my way. Well, I was wrong. Season 2 mainly focused on a trial of The Bakers vs. The School. Hannah Baker’s parents decided to sue the school because they believed that if the school had done more than Hannah would still be here. During the trial, many of the students that were mentioned on the tapes were called to testify for either the Baker’s or for the school. While hearing what these students had to say, we hear more details of their relationship with Hannah and part of the relationship that Hannah didn’t say on the tapes.
One of the things that surprised me the most this season was Hannah and Kevin’s relationship. I did not have any idea that they were in any type of relationship. They were basically a couple, but they didn’t hang out in public. I honestly had no idea that they had gotten so close and Kevin is really a sweet guy. It made it even worst to me to see that side of them and know where they both ended up.
One of the most powerful scenes to me was in the courtroom when they had different women speak on how they have been sexually assaulted. They were all different ages and different walks of life but the one thing they had in common was they were all victims. I think in light of the Me Too movement that was powerful. To me, it was similar to when Me Too started and so many people came forward and there were all different but they shared their stories.
Now on to the most shocking scene to me which was in the last episode. The first season had a couple graphic episodes so I thought I was prepared for whatever season 2 would throw at me. To me, the 2nd season wasn’t to bad until the last episode. If you finished the season, you know what scene I am talking about. I couldn’t even watch the complete scene. I took my headphones and threw my phone on the table at work because I just couldn’t watch it. For the part I did see, I was thinking “Was it Necessary?” I understand what they were trying to do but it was just a lot for me and in the end I kept thinking it could have been without it.
The last scene I want to talk about is the dance scene. I was watching this scene at work on my break and I was literally sobbing in the break room. I wasn’t ready for all the feelings that I had. When I heard that song that Hannah and Clay danced to, I lost it immediately. It was also one of my favorite scenes because of how everyone came together in that moment.
I know this show is controversial and not everyone likes it. I myself do enjoy the show and it keeps me wanting to know what will happen next. I do think this show is not for everyone. I feel like you need to be mature and in the right head space before you watch this show. I know its suppose to be a teen show but to me it is very heavy and mature content that sometimes I can’t even handle. This again is just my opinion if you disagree that is fine. I do think that all these issues should be talked about between school, students, teachers and parents.
Lastly, please forgive me for probably the longest post I have ever written but I had a lot of feelings. I hope you enjoyed it and let me know what you thought of season 2. And as always The Show Must Go On.
