Do you remember when you looked forward to hearing the theme song from your favorite show when it came on? You knew every word and would sing along every time. I miss those days.
Now that is not the case, more and more shows are coming out and less theme songs are being used. Some of you might remember that Greys Anatomy had a theme song. It was called Cozy in the Rocket and it went a little like this “Nobody knows where we might end up.” One Tree Hill also had an iconic theme song by Gavin DeGraw. One Tree Hill had their theme song for the first few seasons and then after that it was gone. By the 8th and 9th season, the theme song had come back. Thank Goodness!
Now almost every show has gotten rid of the typical theme song. When a show doesn’t have a theme song, it is like it is missing something. It’s now just the name of the show on the screen with maybe a 5 second tune or sound bite. This makes me sad. The best part about theme songs is singing along when it came on. I remember singing to That’s So Raven and knowing every single word.
If I put a couple of lyrics up, I guarantee you will know what show it will be.

I don’t wanna be anything other than what I’ve been trying to be lately…
Just hearing those words make me think of all those shows. They also give me such nostalgia.
Sometimes I wish more shows today had songs with lyrics. Maybe there are less theme songs because they want to give us more content. Whatever the reason, I prefer the theme song. If you know why less shows are coming out with songs, please let me know? What is your favorite theme song? And The Show Must always Go On.
