Blogmas Day 8: How I Deal With Stress During the Holidays

I hope you all are enjoying Blogmas so far. The holidays can be stressful sometimes. It is suppose to be the happiest time of the year but it’s hard when there are so many other things to think about. You have to buy presents for friends and family. You have to make sure you get it all before the 25th. You have to decorate and bake cookies. During the holiday season you have to make sure to make time for yourself. Here is how I de-stress during the Christmas season.

Wrapping Presents – I am the type of person that loves to go all out for Christmas. That can be a lot. So when I am overwhelmed I relax by doing something I love. I love to wrap Christmas presents and it makes me happy when I am stressed out. I will sit there and  put on Christmas music or a movie and just sit there and wrap presents. I make sure that I make time in my day to just sit down relax and wrap presents. I don’t usually wrap them all at once. It will just be a couple at a time. Wrapping presents just puts me in a good mood and all the stress melts away.

Christmas Music – As soon as December comes around I have all my Christmas playlists ready. Every time I listen to the music it puts me in such a good mood. Usually when I am doing anything during this time of year, I listen to Christmas music and it just makes me feel good and any stress gets a little lighter.

Christmas Movies – This is one of my favorite things to do during Christmas. I love Christmas movies and I have Hallmark, Lifetime, and Freeform on repeat. I love making myself a cup of hot chocolate with my heated blanket and watching Christmas movies. I especially love watching them with my sister. I think movies are better when you watch them with someone. It is the perfect thing to fill me with Christmas cheer.

Christmas Themed Outing – I think that planning something for yourself is great to get take away some of the stress. I love planning outings with my sister or friends. We sometimes go into the city and look at the Christmas decorations. If I plan something for myself, it is usually getting my nails done in Christmas colors. I would suggest doing something you like around this time of year to just focus on yourself.

Stay In Christmas Activities – If you don’t want to go out, staying in is also a great option. You can make gingerbread houses with friends or even decorate an ornament. I find planning a little fun activity to do, distracts you from the stress. You can even find yourself having a little fun.

These are the things that I do during the Christmas season to de-stress. I can easily get overwhelmed by Christmas shopping and trying to give everyone a great Christmas. I have to remind myself that this season is about giving and the people not things.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Please come back tomorrow for another blogmas post. And as always The Show Must Go On.
