I feel that a good summer show is Santa Clarita Diet. I am so glad that the 3rd season has come out. I love it and I think this dark comedy is hilarious.Where we left off in the 2nd season, was when Anne discovered Sheila had come back from the dead. She doesn’t know that she eats people, so that makes this season very interesting. At the very end, we see Abby and Eric blow up a fracking site. There will be spoilers so please stop reading if you don’t want to know what happened in the 3rd season.
This season there were some new faces and a lot more people are after the undead then than before. They think that they are safe and then a new threat comes a long that they have to take care of. Something that happened a lot this season was turning other people into undead. Having too many undead causes some chaos and a lot of unwanted attention. There are more threats in this season than in the previous ones. This makes it more difficult for them to keep a low profile. Another big part of this season, is about their future. Sheila ask Joel if she can turn him so they can spend eternity together. It is a big decision and Joel has to decide if this is what he really wants for his life.
What I love: Abby and Eric are so cute. I honestly don’t know what they are and neither do they apparently but I love them. I love Eric’s character because of how scared and awkward he is. I think its hilarious and it makes the show that more enjoyable. I love how strong Abby is. She can be rough around the edges sometimes but don’t mess with her because she take you. Sheila and Joel dynamic I love the most. Sheila is bold, fierce and impulsive. Joel is more nervous, apprehensive, and cautious. They balance each other out and I think that is why their characters are perfect for each other.
What I hated: I didn’t really like Anne that much. I just didn’t like her getting all in Sheila and Joel’s business. I was ecstatic when she finally left but I don’t think that is the last we will see of her. I also hate the spider ball thing. It creeps me out so much and every time I see it I feel like a spider is crawling on my skin.
This show I honestly enjoy. I watch it and laugh and I think the type of characters really make that happen. They just like any other family but one of them is undead. It is a good watch and can be a bit dark sometimes because of the killing, but the comedy out ways the blood.
The ending of this season has me wondering how much will their life change now that Joel is undead too. The spider ball crawled right into his ear and that image I still can not get out of my head. Yet another reason why I hate the spider ball because of what it did to Joel. I am super excited to see what Joel is like when he is undead. Most people do a complete 180 when they were changed so I am interested to see what they dynamic will be like in future seasons. What do you think of season 3? And as always The Show Must Go On.
