It is finally here!
Ever since I finished the first season of On My Block, I have been waiting for the 2nd season. I watched it, and now I’m ready for the season 3. The 2nd season did not disappoint. I loved every minute of it. There will be some spoilers so if you don’t want to know what happened in the 2nd season stop reading.
We left off on the 1st season with Ruby and Olivia getting shot. Ruby survived and Olivia did not. Throughout the season we see the group mostly Ruby dealing with the loss and trying to figure out how to move on. Cesar this season currently has no place to call home. He is sleeping here and there and everyone who does help is also putting themselves in danger. Monse finally knows who her mom is and they spend some time together. One of the saddest parts of the season was when Monse’s mom showed her true colors. When she found out why her mom left, I think that part was the most emotional for me. Jamal is trying to keep the roller world money safe. He is paranoid about it getting into the wrong hands and he definitely starts spiraling.
What I Loved: This season I started to really like Jasmin. Last season I found her more annoying and didn’t really see her purpose. This season I found out why many people like my sister and friends liked her character. Jasmin has definitely become one of my favorite to watch. I also really like how in this season they showed more depth of her character. Jamal is still #1 though. Jamal always has me laughing and I think he is a must in the show.
What I Hated: What bothered me the most this season and last season is Cesar and Monse. Honestly, the same reason that they aren’t together this season is the same as the 1st. Basically, Cesar gets with another girl and Monse breaks up with him. I feel like they are constantly going in circles and I don’t know if they even belong together. The other thing I didn’t like was the baby mama. She got on my nerves as much as she did ruby’s mom. I am glad the baby wasn’t his.
Now, let’s talk about the ending. At the very end of the season season wee see Ruby, Jamal, Monse, and Cesar getting kidnapped. How are they going to end it like that? Major question is who kidnapped them? All the prophets were arrested so who is responsible? This is why I need season 3 to come immediately. Let me know your thoughts about season 2 and who you think kidnapped the group. And as always The Show Must Go On.
