It’s Black History Month! Here are some great shows that you should check out this month.

When They See Us – This story follows the case of the Central Park Five. They spent so much time behind bars and trying to clear their name on a crime they did not commit.

Grownish – This is a spin off of the show Blackish. This follows Zoey Johnson during her college years. She and her friends navigate friendships, relationships, and academics.

Shadow – It is a South African show about an ex cop that helps anyone that calls him for help. This is a Netflix Original and I think if you like action, vigilante movies, then you will probably like this one.

Being Mary Jane – Mary Jane is a successful TV Anchor. She talks about hard hitting issues that affect her and the community. She keeps climbing to the top with her best friend as her producer.

Queen Sugar – This follows a family that owns a sugar cane farm. They navigate the business and their family relationship.

Green Leaf – This revolves around a family that is the head of a mega church. They seem to be perfect on the surface, but they’re many secrets underneath the surface.

Hot to Get Away With Murder – Annalise Keating is a force to be reckoned with. She is an attorney and selects students to help her on cases. These difficult cases do bring on more trouble than they are prepared for.

7 seconds – This show follows the death of a young black boy and a police cover up. Throughout the show they are trying to find out who kills this boy, and to get justice.

Black Lightning – If you didn’t know, this show is about a family with some great powers. The main character comes back to save the city when they need him most.

Power – Takes a look at a very powerful man that has it all. He seems to have some secrets of his own that not everyone knows about. He needs to make sure he stays on top.

What TV shows will you be watching during Black History Month? And as always The Show Must Go On.
