This is a South African show. It is about a woman named Queen Sono who is a spy. When she was little her mother was killed in front of her. While being great at her job, she also tries to find the guys that killed her mother.
Throughout the show you see that there are a group of people who are trying to free their fellow south Africans from the higher and richer corrupt officials. They do go through some extreme means to get their message across. To try and free all their people, they put other lives in danger. Queen, with the help of the rest of her team, tries to stop their next attack before too many innocent lives are lost.
This is definitely a strong female lead which I loved. The main character wasn’t the only powerful woman in the show. We see a few powerful women throughout the episodes. Some are good and others are not. I think it was a good balance of strong female characters on the show.
It is only 6 episodes so it is a quick watch. Depending on how much time you have, it will take about a day or 2. Maybe a good weekend watch. I thought it was a pretty good show, I would probably give it like a 3 out 5.
Queen Sono is a Netflix Original so you can watch season 1 now. It was recently announced that there would be a 2nd season so I am interested to see what happens next. Have you seen Queen Sono? If so, what did you think?
