Descendants of The Sun: Love is Worth The Risk

Descendants of the Sun was another recommendation by a coworker. I actually found clips on youtube and it looked interesting and I was thinking about watching the show. When I told my co-worker, I said that this show was really good and that I should watch it. After that, I knew I had to give it a try.

Descendants of the Sun is about Doctor Kang Mo Yeon and a military guy, Captain Yoo Shin Jin, in special forces. They did not get off on the best foot when they first met, but there was a spark between them that neither of them could deny. So, they decided to give dating a try. This is easier said than done. Because of Captain Yoo Shin Jin’s occupation, there is a lot about his job he can’t say. The danger being with him is another reason that makes Doctor Kang Mo Yeon hesitant to continue to be with him.

The majority of the love story happens when they both end up helping out in the same country. Captain Yoo Shin Jin is stationed there, and Doctor Kang Mo Yeon’s hospital sent doctors over to help. Here they get to learn more about each other and their love grows. There are some dangerous situations that they get into as well. The love they want, they have to fight for it because it is not going to be easy.

There is another love story in this show as well, Yoon Meong-Joo and Seo Dae-Young . They are both in the military but her father who is a very high rank official who does not want them to be together. He has been sending them on separate missions so that they will not be able to see each other. In my opinion both love stories are equally interesting.

I would give Descendants of The Sun a 4 out of 5. I really did enjoy it and I loved the storyline and the development of both couples. It reminded me a little of Crash Landing On You so I think that is why I liked it so much. This show is the Korean one. I also saw that there was a Vietnamese version, but I wasn’t able to watch that one. This show was on Viki, so that is how I was able to watch it. It is only 1 season and the finale was a bit different but I think it wrapped up the season pretty well.

Have you seen the show? What did you think?
