I love this show! If you haven’t seen it, I highly suggest it. I have literally been telling everyone I see about it and I can’t stop. This is by far one of my favorite Korean dramas I have seen it is #1 on my list.
This show is about a woman from South Korea Yoon Seri and a man from North Korea Ri Jung Hyuk. There will be spoilers so if you haven’t seen it you should stop reading.
Yoon Seri is a famous business woman in South Korea. She is paragliding testing out some of her new products when all of a sudden the weather changes for the worst. She ends up landing in North Korea and is found by a soldier Ri Jung Hyuk. He and a few other soldiers try to help Seri get back home. Through all this time, they develop feelings for each other and their story is so unique you know that it is fate.
The creators did an amazing job. This show was done so well. I think it was great casting and the story lines of each character was phenomenal.
This is a romance show and usually in romance movies and shows, I feel that things are dragged out a lot, and sometimes for too long. For this show, a lot of what I suspected to de dragged out for so long wasn’t and I really appreciated that. Of course there was suspense on the relationship, but it wasn’t unnecessarily long.
Let’s be real, we know in most romantic shows/movies the main characters are going to get together so why drag it out so long? Sometimes it is tiring to watch that constantly but not this show, they kept the relationship continuously moving and growing and to me that was refreshing.
What I didn’t like was the ending. I wanted everyone to live happily ever after. When Gu Seung-joon died, I was upset. At first, I have to admit that I didn’t love his charter but as the show went on I grew to know him and his death did hurt me. Also I wanted to see a wedding at the end. I know that Yoon Seri & Ri Jung Hyuk did end up together but I wanted to see them with kids as well.
A lot of people are asking if there will be a 2nd season. I would love to see their story continue. I think there might be some more that could be told, but I am not sure how they would make another season or how that would work. The first season focused on their countries preventing them from being together. I would be interested to see what a 2nd season would be about since they are together now.
This is a Korean drama that I love. I have already started rewatching it because I love it so much. I think this show will continuously be at the top my list. You can catch the entire season on Netflix. If you have seen it, what did you think? And as always The Show Must Go On
