X Files Season 9 starts to bring the show to an end.
In season 9, Mulder is no longer here. He is on the run because people are after him. We don’t see a lot of Dana either. In this season, we mostly see Agent Doget and Agent Reyes. It’s like they are the new Dana and Mulder. They work on the X files together now. It is like it is a new show. Dana does help them out here and there but is definitely not on the show as much as she usually is.
At first I wasn’t sure about Doget and Reyes but after a while I got used to them and kind of liked them. I kind of wished they were introduced into the series sooner than the 9th season. I think it would have been a good dynamic to have them all on the show for a couple of seasons.
At the end of the season, Mulder and Dana are back. When they finally reunite, they are more PDA in this season then they have ever been on previous ones. It was kind of surprising to see. Once they reunite they are on the run.
This season was the last of the regular season. Let me tell you that this season finale was kind of a let down. It was just Dana and Mulder wondering what will happen next. I didn’t really like it as it ended the entire 9 seasons. It was more of an open ended conclusion and I feel like there wasn’t a lot of resolutions in this episode either. I would have been really upset if I watched this when it was airing and that was the end. Imagine spending 9 years watching this show and that was how it ended.
On a positive note, I do think that this 9th season was my favorite one so far. The next seasons came out 15 years later. I am interested to see what these next 2 seasons will be like.
