A Discovery of Witches is a fantasy show in the world of witches, vampires and demons.
A Discovery of Witches is a show that follows Diana who is a witch and Matthew who is a vampire. Our story begins when Diana, who doesn’t really use magic, is able to call up a very powerful book. People have been searching for this book for hundreds of years with no success. When word gets out that Diana is able to find it, all eyes are on her. With this attention, it brings many enemies. Fortunately, she meets Matthew who she trusts to help her with this journey.
When Diana decides to trust Matthew, many people are not happy about this relationship. Vampires and witches do not hang out together. It is also against their rules for creatures to have relationships with each other. Diana and Matthew can not deny the connection they feel toward each other.
By being together, they have ignored the rules and have kind of started a war. They do have friends and family that are willing to fight beside them. They want to not fight only for themselves but for a new future for all magical creatures.
I absolutely loved watching this show. It had fantasy, romance, and a little bit of some action as well. The 2nd season was my least favorite, but generally I liked the show. I do wish they expanded upon some magical creatures but other than that it was still a really good show.
I would give this 4.75 stars. It was refreshing to watch a show with multiple seasons and know it will have a beginning and a satisfying ending. I was so happy that I have already rewatched this show. If you want to check this out, you can catch it on Netflix.
