Outer Banks season 4 did not feel the same as it had in previous seasons.
In season 4 of Outer Banks, we pick up where we left off in season 3. A man came up to them and asked if they would be interested in finding a new treasure. That would be the treasure of Blackbeard. This is the focus for the 4th season. They soon find out that they are not the only ones looking for this treasure.
Throughout season 4, there were a lot of moments that felt a little off. I think the combination of those small moments made the whole season feel a bit different. It didn’t flow as easily as it had done in previous seasons. I also felt like some decisions and actions that happened didn’t feel right for certain characters.
There was a pregnancy storyline in this season. I didn’t like how it had unfolded within this season. If this storyline was structured differently, it could have maybe worked better. This could cause it to feel a bit more natural in the show. I also felt really bad for JJ this season. He was going through it. I wish he wasn’t going through so much for as long as he did, but that is just my preference.
What made this season feel the most different to me, were the scenes with JJ and Kiara or lack thereof. This would be the season where JJ and Kiara would finally be a couple. I was looking forward to seeing the relationship develop. Unfortunately, we didn’t get much of that.
As I was watching this season, there were moments where I thought the characters JJ and Kiara should have been interacting more with each other. Even as friends these were scenes that would have been in previous seasons. Not having those moments made it feel like there was something missing in the show.
Overall, a lot of things in this season didn’t feel right and some didn’t make sense. It was disappointing because I was really excited to see this season of the show. After watching Outer Banks season 4, I would give this show 2.5 stars. It was ok, there was a lot of potential that it didn’t really reach for this season.
Outer Banks has been renewed for a season 5. This will be its final season. I really hope it will end on a good note.
