When The Phone Rings deals with secrets, lies, and mysteries.
In When The Phone Rings, there is a married couple and they had an arranged marriage. The husband is a political figure and the wife is not able to speak. One day the wife is taken, and the person who took her calls the husband. This phone call is the one that changes their lives moving forward.
This phone call changes a lot of things once it is made. When the husband receives the call from the kidnapper, he doesn’t believe him. He automatically thinks this is some kind of prank. This couple’s personal life has been very private so he doesn’t believe that someone could have taken his wife. This exchange over the phone is the start of a path that is dangerous.
When The Phone RIngs, does focus on the main couple but there are a couple of mysteries that are going on at the same time. Throughout the episodes, we begin to see that all questions and mysteries are all connected. There was plot twist after plot twist happening in this show.
Even though this was an intense show and had a lot of suspense, I think they did well of weaving in the romance. This couple had so much to deal with, but we did get to see them grow from strangers to actual companions.
After watching When The Phone Rings, I would give it 4.5 stars. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. If you are into mystery and thrillers, this is a show you should definitely check out.
