Women of TV: Ava DuVernay

Ava-duvernay

One of the people I am currently in awe of is Ava DuVernay. Her name has been all over my social media lately, in a good way. You might have heard of the movie A Wrinkle In Time which she is a part of. She wears many hats in the Entertainment industry. She is a writer, producer, and director.

In this post, we will be talking about her work in television. She has worked on the show Queen Sugar. Ava DuVernay has directed and wrote a couple episodes of the show. It is currently on its 3rd season and doing very well. I have not seen it yet but, I plan to because I have heard so many good things about it.

One thing I love about Ava DuVernay is that she wasn’t always in Movies or Television. She didn’t always know she wanted to be a producer, director, or even a writer. In a interview, she said she didn’t even touch a camera until she was in her 30’s. This shows that you can never stop learning and that your path is never ending. Where you are now will probably not be where you will be in 5 years.

Can you imagine if Ava DuVernay never even picked up a camera? Crazy right? Just hearing part her story, is some sort of inspiration that there is always a path to follow.

Thank you Ava DuVernay for inspiring me to continue on the path of my dreams.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you are interested in other women of TV click the links below. And remember The Show Must Go On.
