Binge of the Month: Arrow

I have been completely into Arrow for the past couple of weeks. It was recommended to me by Netflix for a while and I eventually gave in because I wanted to watch something new. I then became addicted, so here I am telling you what I think about the show so far. So currently on Netflix, there are 6 seasons and you best believe I watched all 6. The 7th season is now airing on The CW.

When I began the first couple episodes, it reminded me of Iron Fist from Marvel. I am not sure which hero came first but they were a little similar at the beginning. Then as I continued to watch, I began to see how different they really are.

The basis of the show is that a playboy millionaire named Oliver Queen, is found on a deserted island after being presumed dead for 5 years. He is the only survivor after a terrible boating accident that caused him to be stranded. When he comes back to Starling City, he is determined to right the wrongs of his father by saving his beloved city.

I definitely didn’t think that I would love this show as much as I did, but I proved myself wrong once again. The show gives you just enough so that you keep coming back for more. If you like some action or are into the superheroes, you will enjoy this one.

The only problem I had with the show is that in the later seasons they start incorporating other superheroes in the DC universe and if you don’t watch those shows a few of the episodes get confusing. They sometimes continue off of each other and I would not know what was going on. If I had watched all the episodes on television then it might have been a little better, because they usually let you know that a crossover event is happening. Since I was bingeing them on Netflix I got all types of confused when they did crossover episodes.

I was mad at myself for getting addicted to this show because now I have to watch the rest of the series on TV. I hate going from watching 5 episodes in a day ( maybe more) then going to watching one a week. It will be hard at first but I think I will be able to get through it. I have officially added this show to my weekly fall to watch list and I hope you do too. You can catch season 7 on the CW every Monday.
