Never Have I Ever is a teen comedy on Netflix.
This is a new show by Mindy Kaling. It follows the life of a girl named Devi. We see her in her sophomore year of high school with her 2 best friends. She comes up with a plan for all of them to be on the road to become popular. She wants this year of her life to be different. You also see that she has a huge crush on Paxton who was a year above her. Devi decides that Paxton would never be her boyfriend but she does want to sleep with him.
Other than her high school life, you see that Devi has a whole lot going on that she is not ready to admit. Eventually she does face all the emotions, that she hasn’t been dealing with and it seems that is a turning point. Then they hit you with the cliffhanger in the end. Who will Devi end up with?
I really did like this show a lot. I thought it was definitely more funny in the beginning. These first episodes were really good. I do have to say that this is a story that I have personally never seen before. I don’t know a whole lot of Indian American shows and I was glad to see this one. Getting to see some of the culture in this show, is something that I enjoyed. I also commend the show for the strong female characters and the diversity. I loved it all.
While watching this show it reminded me of On My Block. So I would say if you like that style of show and comedy you will probably enjoy this one. If you have seen the show what did you think?
