Ugly Betty takes on the fashion industry.
Ugly Betty is about Betty who wants to be an editor and work at a magazine. She ends up getting a job at MODE which is a fashion magazine, as an assistant. Betty is anything but fashionable. The reason she got the job is because her boss won’t be tempted to sleep with her. She is in this new environment where she is the odd one out. She isn’t like the typical person you would find at a fashion magazine.
In this show, you see Betty go through many obstacles in her job and along the way figure out who she is and what kind of work she wants to end up doing. This was definitely a show I heard alot about when it first aired. I know a lot of people enjoyed it and I wanted to give it a watch.
I thought this show was ok. My rating for this would be 3 stars. I definitely enjoyed it more in the later seasons. When I started watching this, people told me they loved this show. I think it is definitely a show of its time and I would have loved it more if I watched it when it first aired. For me personally, I never really loved it.
