Family Reunion Review

This is the new show on Netlfix that has Tia Mowry. I was excited to hear that she would be back on TV. I had seen a lot of people on twitter enjoyed it. I wanted to see it. The centers around a family comes down to Columbus Georgia for a family reunion. After the time spent in Georgia, Cocoa the mother who is played by Tia Mowry, and Moz who is the father decide that this place would be a great place to live and be closer to family. They leave their high end life in Seattle and move to Columbus, Georgia with their 4 kids. Here the kids learn more about their family and culture.

What I really like about the show was that even though it is a comedy they still focused on importance of back culture and different things that are going on within the community. At the end of each episode they have who it is dedicated to and I think that is one thing I really like about the show. I think we do need a current black family sitcom. I think this is a good start and I hope that it will eventually get even better.

I thought the show was ok. I didn’t think it was terrible but I also didn’t love it. There were definitely some parts that made me laugh. While I found it to be funny at some times. At other times, I found to be corny. I do think the basis and the meaning of the show definitely outweighs the humor. Which I think, is way more important. At the end of the 10 episodes though, it did have me wanting to know what will happen next.

The first 10 episodes are on Netflix. A lot of people did enjoy the show so I might be in the minority about my opinion. This did get a full 20 episodes so there should be 10 more coming. Will I be watching the next 10 episodes? More than likely I will. If you like good family TV, maybe this is a show that you will enjoy. I do think this is a show that the whole family can watch together. Again, this is just my opinion of the show. Did you watch it and if so what did you think of Family Reunion? And remember The Show Must Go On
