May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month.

Below are 8 shows that you can watch during this month. These are only a few shows below. I tried to find shows that had a majority of the cast AAPI or where the main character was AAPI. Please let me know if you have seen any of these shows and what you thought. I tried to include a couple different genres so I hope you find one you will enjoy.

The American Dragon: Jake Long– Jake is a teenager trying to go through school and he has a secret they do not know about. He is also a dragon. He has to protect the magical world while trying to be a normal teenager.

Fresh Off The Boat – A family moves from their lives in Chinatown to the suburbs in Florida. They try to adjust to their new lives and surroundings.

Never Have I Ever– We follow the life of Devi in high school. She is determined to make this year of high school her best yet but it doesn’t go as she plans.

The Mindy Project – Mindy is a successful doctor and she wants to become a person who is different from who she actually is. She tries and balances her career with her personal life.

Young Rock – We take a look at Dwayne Johnson’s life growing up. We see what his life was like and what got him to where he is today.

Killing Eve – Eve is a spy and she is going after a trained assassin. They are both very interested in the other and it creates this game of back and forth.

Asian Americans  – This is a docuseries on PBS called Asian Americans. It shows the challenges that Asian Americans have gone through and a great educational watch.

Kim’s Convenience -A family runs a store in Canada and we see what customers they deal with every day.

These are the 8 shows you can watch. If you go on Hulu, they have a category for Asian American and Pacific Islander stories. You can find so many more movies & TV shows there. If you like reading a youtuber WithCindy host an asian read-a-thon so I will leave the link for her video here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxxOc_rW8go&t=338s If you have any great TV to watch for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage (AAPI) Month, please leave them in the comments below.
