I think season 5 of Vikings was by far my favorite season. I loved seeing all the battles in this season.
The main theme in this season was wars between brothers. It did not happen only to the sons of Ragnor. It also happened between King Harold and his brother. There was also conflict between the brothers in Wessex. Deciding which one would become king and having a difference of opinions on how they should rule and defeat the vikings.
Throughout this whole season, brothers were in conflict. Many situations in this season pinned brothers against each other. It was not only one set of brothers it was all of them in life and death situations. I think it was interesting the paths each brother took, especially the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok but eventually all paths led to the battle at the end for Kattegat
One thing that was major in this season was Ivar’s character. He was crazy. We all knew he was crazy since he was a kid, but now everyone knows. He fought so hard to have power and become king. Ivar was always made fun of when he was younger and now he was the one in control. He had power and he took advantage of it. I love a good villain and even though I hated him in this season, he was very strategic and that is how he came to power. I think he was a great villain and was steps ahead of most of his opponents.
There were a lot of things that happened in this season but I think the battles between the brothers were the ones that stood out to me the most.
Season 6 is the final season. I am excited about what happens to the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok in this final season. Will Bjorn still be king at the end of the season?
