The final season of Vikings. I finally finished all 6 seasons and I am glad I watched the show.

In the 6th season, we see Bjorn finally as king. He deals with the traitors that worked for Ivar and he figures out what is the best way to be king. He is also asked to save King Harold since he has been captured by another king. When Bjorn arrives they decide to bring all the kings to Norway and elect a king of all of Norway. King Harold sabotages the votes and becomes king instead of Bjorn. He betrayed Bjorn and tried to have him killed. Harold and Bjorn do have to end up coming together to fight a new enemy.
Ivar has fled at the end of season 5 and is now in a foreign country. He makes friends with another King in that country who was as ruthless as Ivar was. It is interesting to see Ivar come in contact with someone who rules just like he did. Ivar is changing. He is not the heartless ruler he was. He seems to have more of a heart and doesn’t enjoy the malicious ways of the King he has befriended.
King Oleg and Ivar decide to go to Norway to fight the vikings and make Ivar king. This is the battle that Bjorn and Harold were getting ready for. One of the most heartbreaking parts was seeing Ivar drive a sword through Bjorn. They have been on opposite sides many times but seeing that was so sad. After that, something cool did happen. Bjorn with the last of his energy rode into battle and the Vikings won against Ivar.
At the very end of the season the Vikings go back to England. This time Ivar was a bit too ambitious and lost his life in this battle. It came full circle that they went back to where it all began. The ending overall was ok to me. I didn’t like who ended up ruling Kattegat in the end. To me it was also weird that Hvitserk became a christian.
My thoughts on the show overall was that it was pretty good. I thought the pacing could be very slow at times and I think that is why it took me so long to finally finish it. I think if you enjoy Game of Thrones, it is probably a show you might want to check out. All 6 seasons are currently on Hulu.
